About Martinique

Certified Life Cycle Celebrant
Martinique Davis Prohaska

I grew up in Colorado ski towns (Vail then Telluride,) and am now blessed to be back in Telluride, raising my own daughters Elle and Emme in the mountains I’ve always considered home.

After receiving my degrees in English and Journalism from the Colorado College in 2001, I returned to Telluride where I began writing for Watch Newspapers, a job that allowed me to follow my passion for writing.

As it goes with most longtime ski town residents, I ultimately gained many monikers: I’m a supervisor for the Telluride Ski Patrol in the winter, landscaper for my husband’s company San Juan Landscapes in the summer, and a year-round contributor to the Watch as a reporter and columnist. Although I found a creative outlet in writing my parenting column Raising Elle, I craved more avenues to express my love of writing and storytelling.

A Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant officiated my wedding in 2006, but it wasn’t until 2011 that I decided to become a Celebrant myself. Through my training with the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, I have discovered a new avenue for my creative passions. As a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant, I am deeply committed to providing personalized, heartfelt ceremonies for all occasions through my company Wellspring Ceremonies.
